The last few weekends have seen some good weather, however, this weekend saw more in the way of cloud and we also had some rain on Saturday 29th.

John got this shot on Sunday morning, of the cloudy skies over the bay, with the familiar sight of St. Tudwal's Islands out in the bay. The photo was taken up in the Mynytho area and you can see some of the buildings of Abersoch on the middle-right hand side of the photo.

We have seen plenty of sunshine so far this month, which has been lovely, though air temperatures have remained on the cool side of average. John captured the blue skies once again with this shot looking across the harbour. The old lime kiln can be seen centre right, which is a great viewing point. You can also just see part of the roof of the RNLI lifeboat station on the left edge of the photo.

We saw a wonderful morning of weather on the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend, when we got that perfect combination of strong sunshine and hardly any breeze, which means we get less of a cooling effect from the sea and so some local warmth develops. We have an in-house photo this week, taken during a day spent on Cilan Headland during the first edition of the "She Ultra" event. A photo on a warm October morning of the old timber posts of the jetty on Ty’n Tywyn Beach, Llanbedrog, is this week's photo from John. As we mentioned a few months back... "The posts were part of a structure dating back to the 1870's, which was used by the nearby quarries. The posts were recently under threat of removal, but a local campaign has ensured these historic timbers will remain in place."

Looking across the Warren, towards St. Tudwal's Island West is this week's photo from John of Totally Abersoch. Many of the yachts and boats on the deep water moorings off Abersoch are now ashore, however, a few remain. It won't be long until the bay is empty again until the moorings are re-laid next spring.

Phill Boyd is back this week with a shot taken from in the water of 2 of the local wing foilers in the bay. Wing foiling has increased in popularity in the last 12 months and can be regularly seen out in the waters off the main beach. Keep an eye out for more photos from Phill, as he is often to be found in and out of the water at the local surf beaches - when the surf is running.

Amidst the changeable weather this July, we have continued to see some decent periods on most days of the week. John got this morning shot of the main beach, which is now quieter again after a busy Abersoch Dinghy Week. Saturday saw a continuation of the generally warm September, with some sunshine through the day and John captured this shot early in the morning, looking down the beach, from the beach huts close to the yacht club. A lovely time of day to be up and about!

A view looking across a parched links of the Abersoch golf course and the main beach is this week's photo from John and the first photo of the meteorological autumn. The recent rains should help to green up the links. The beach huts on the beach can be seen, as well as SCYC, which is on the headland just to the right of them.

Fine bank holiday weather brought the crowds to Abersoch main beach, as seen in this photo from John, looking down the beach from the Williams / SCYC end of the beach. The public launching slipway can be seen in the centre of the photo.

A view of the W&G Williams and SCYC end of the main beach, under clear skies and very warm early evening sunshine is this week's photo. The weather has been exceptional again in Abersoch over the last few days, with the very unusual figure of 30c exceeded on 3 consecutive days. The cooler seas which virtually surround the area normally keep such high values out of reach.

With Abersoch seeing another beautiful spell of weather, this shot from John shows the calm waters of the harbour beach around high tide. The sea wall on the left of the photo was re-built in recent years, helping to protect the properties behind from winter storm surges.

The weather has turned more changeable, however, there have still been some lovely periods - as can be seen on this classic view, looking across the bridge into Abersoch. The tidal gates can be seen under the bridge, which open when the tide is going out and allows the Afon Soch to enter the harbour and the bay. The gates close on the incoming tide to prevent salt water flooding up the valley.

Abersoch's inner harbour at high tide is this week's photo from John. One of the older cottages in the village, Compass Cottage, can be seen centre right, with Tim's boatyard st back and just to the right of the cottage. A bit further to the right is the bridge into Abersoch, with the tidal gates beneath it, which prevents the high tide from surging up the Afon Soch. These open naturally once the tide turns, to allow the Soch to flow into the sea.

The weather across Pen Llyn has been really rather good during the last week and the lovely conditions were captured by John on this photo, which was taken on the Wales Coastal Path - which provides wonderful walking (and running) around this magnificent coastline. The weather in Abersoch has been more like summer this week than March, with the wind dropping out times to help the local warmth build. Phill Boyd is this week's guest photographer and he was out and about capturing images of Storm Eunice. It looks as though the Abersoch area escaped the worst of the weather, but gusts in excess of 80mph were recorded locally. The northern end of the main beach, bathed in wintry sunlight, is this week's photo from John. The green links of the golf course can be seen in the foreground and Llanbedrog Head is in the background.
